Founded by Rex Fritschi in 1968, Rex Travel has prospered from day one by adhering to a policy of giving personal service and careful attention to the upscale leisure traveler and select special interest groups. Located on the 20th floor in the heart of Chicago's financial district, its clientele is all repeat (a few families in their 3rd generation!) and referral, and hails not only from the Midwest, but also throughout the world.
Rex Travel has become a household brand amongst the upscale leisure travelers. It has earned respect for its successful marketing of carefully selected resorts, tours and cruises., also for its imaginative, fee-based, planning and meticulous operation of tailor-made programs. The public media has taken notice of Rex Travel with articles in Travel & Leisure, the Robb Report, the Wall Street Journal and the Conde Nast Traveler.
Rex Travel is one of the earliest members of the exclusive consortium, VIRTUOSO. Membership in this group gives Rex Travel's clients special benefits and fares not obtainable elsewhere.
The success and fame of Rex Travel is entirely due to its management and staff which enjoys nationwide recognition. The senior members are Linda Gotkowski, President, (25 years with Rex Travel), Julie Lemish, VP, (13 years), Betty Wilkshire (18 years), Sue Johnston (16 years).
Every corner of the globe has been visited - well more that 150 countries and islands - from Antarctica to Iran, from Tibet to Patagonia, from Myanmar to Irian Jaya. There is hardly a major cruise ship that Rex Travel staffers have not sailed on, or a single port of call not visited. Important resorts and hotels have been stayed at. Many unique adventures have been experienced.
Rex Travel is purposely lean and small so that each client can be given personal attention and individual counseling. Its policy is to forgo point to point air transportation and run of the mill budget travel. It concentrates on what it knows and handles best: the upscale leisure market.
